Living in Alignment: Understanding the Universal Laws
The laws of the universe are guiding principles, each helping us better understand the flow of life and how to work with it rather than against it. By aligning with these laws, we move from resistance to acceptance, creating a smoother, more meaningful life journey. Here’s an exploration of each law, how to live in harmony with them, and some journal prompts to help you reflect on how to align with these principles.

1. The Law of Divine Oneness
Everything is interconnected.
The Law of Divine Oneness states that we are all connected on an energetic level. This means that every thought, action, and event in our lives affects the collective whole. Imagine a web where each thread is intertwined with the next—if one part moves, the whole structure shifts. This law invites us to see that we are never truly isolated, and everything we do has an impact beyond just ourselves.
How to Live By It:
Recognize that your actions, thoughts, and energy ripple out and affect the whole. Choosing love, kindness, and empathy benefits not only you but everyone. Embrace a mindset that considers the collective impact of your actions. Understanding this law, means that you understand that working on yourself, healing yourself is everything but selfish, it is necessary to change the world.
Journal Prompts:
How do my thoughts and actions affect those around me?
In what ways am I connected to others, and how does this shape my life?
What small actions can I take today to contribute positively to the collective energy?
2. The Law of Vibration
Everything is energy, constantly vibrating at its own frequency.
According to this law, everything in the universe is energy and vibrates at its own unique frequency, including our thoughts, emotions, and even objects. Lower vibrations correlate with emotions like fear, guilt, and anger, while higher vibrations align with love, peace, and joy. This law highlights that we can change our lives by changing our energetic vibration.
How to Live By It:
Work on raising your vibration through positive thinking, gratitude, and activities that bring you joy. Recognize that your current state can attract situations, people, and opportunities of a similar frequency. When challenges arise, view them as chances to shift your vibration and grow.
Note: I used to have the hardest time with positive thinking! And then whenever I wasn't thinking positive I would disapprove of myself, putting myself in an even more negative vicious cycle. So I just want to say that it's okay if you don't always think positive, don't force anything, you're feelings and emotions are valid, and you have to get through them to let them go. Do not surpress them, and do not get mad at yourself for not thinking positive!
Journal Prompts:
What is my current emotional vibration, and how does it affect my life?
What habits or beliefs lower my vibration, and how can I shift them?
How can I create more joy and gratitude in my daily life?
3. The Law of Correspondence
Your external world reflects your inner world.
This law reflects the idea that our outer world is a mirror of our inner world. It’s often described by the phrase, “As within, so without.” If you are experiencing chaos externally, it might be pointing to inner turmoil. Similarly, inner peace often reflects in a harmonious external life.
How to Live By It:
Observe your external world for clues about your inner state. If you notice recurring patterns or challenges, explore what beliefs or feelings within you might be causing them. By nurturing your inner well-being, you create a positive ripple effect on your outer experiences.
Journal Prompts:
What is my life reflecting about my inner state right now?
What inner beliefs or thoughts might be causing recurring patterns in my life?
How can I shift these thoughts and beliefs to acquire more inner peace?
4. The Law of Attraction
Like attracts like.
The Law of Attraction asserts that like attracts like, meaning your thoughts and energy will attract corresponding events, people, and situations into your life. Focusing on abundance and gratitude can bring more positive experiences, while fear or lack-based thinking tends to attract limitations or challenges.
How to Live By It:
Practice clarity around what you desire. Visualize your goals, feel the emotions of achieving them, and actively work toward your aspirations. This law encourages an abundance mindset, reminding us that what we focus on expands.
Note: A major factor that often holds us back is the limiting beliefs we hold, whether we're aware of them or not. These beliefs, typically shaped by our upbringing, can be deeply ingrained in our subconscious, and sometimes even passed down through generations. Transforming these limiting beliefs is crucial, but it’s not always easy—it requires focus and often takes time. One powerful tip that has helped me is surrounding myself with people who are thriving in the areas where I feel a lack. Observing their mindset and actions helps me realize that abundance is possible, and it can inspire a shift in my own thinking.
Journal Prompts:
What are my core desires, and am I aligning my thoughts with them?
Where am I focusing on what I don’t want, and how can I shift this?
What positive affirmations resonate with the future I want to create?
What are some limiting beliefs I have that I am already aware of?
What actions could I take to transform those limiting beliefs?
5. The Law of Inspired Action
Take actionable steps toward your desires.
Manifestation requires not only thoughts but action. The Law of Inspired Action reminds us that we must take steps aligned with our goals. This is not about forced or anxious action but rather actions that feel natural and inspired—steps that align with your intuition and inner guidance.
How to Live By It:
When you receive an intuitive nudge, follow it. Inspired action comes from a place of inner knowing rather than logic or fear. Rather than trying to “force” your way to your goals, be open to opportunities and take meaningful steps forward when they appear.
Journal Prompts:
What small actions can I take today that align with my goals?
Where have I been hesitant to take action, and what’s holding me back?
What inspired ideas have come to me recently, and have I followed through?
What does my intuition sound like, feel like, look like? How can I recognize it?
6. The Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy
Energy is constantly moving and can be transformed.
This law suggests that energy is in constant motion and can be transformed. Negative energy can be shifted into positive energy, and vice versa. This law empowers us by reminding us that we have the ability to change our circumstances by changing our energy.
How to Live By It:
When feeling low or stuck, engage in practices that uplift your energy, like exercise, meditation, or creative expression. Trust that small shifts in your mindset and energy can create major transformations over time.
Journal Prompts:
What challenges am I currently facing, and how can I transform my mindset around them?
In what ways can I bring more positivity into my daily routine?
How do I handle my emotions, and could I improve the way I process them?
7. The Law of Cause and Effect (Karma)
Every action has a consequence.
The Law of Cause and Effect, often referred to as karma, states that every action has a reaction. Every thought, word, or deed sets off a chain reaction, creating a corresponding outcome. This law reminds us that we are responsible for our actions and their consequences.
How to Live By It:
Be mindful of your actions and intentions, knowing that everything you put out comes back to you. Practice integrity and compassion, even when it's difficult.
Journal Prompts:
How have my recent actions reflected my true values?
Am I acting out of love, fear, or another emotion?
8. The Law of Compensation
You receive what you give.
This law is an extension of the Law of Cause and Effect, stating that the energy, time, or resources you give will return to you, often in unexpected ways. What you put into the world will eventually come back, sometimes from a different source than where you initially directed it.
How to Live By It:
Be generous with your time, energy, and resources. This law encourages us to give without expecting anything in return, trusting that the universe will balance it out.
Journal Prompts:
Where am I holding back in giving to others or to myself?
What areas of my life do I feel abundant in, and how can I share this?
How can I bring more generosity into my relationships and work?
9. The Law of Relativity
All things are relative and can be understood through comparison.
The Law of Relativity teaches that everything is relative, and all experiences are neutral until we give them meaning. This law reminds us that our perception shapes our reality, and by shifting our viewpoint, we can change how we experience life.
How to Live By It:
Reframe your challenges by viewing them from a higher perspective. Rather than seeing difficulties as setbacks, consider them opportunities for growth and self-discovery. Remember that every experience is relative to the mindset with which you approach it.
Journal Prompts:
What’s a recent experience where shifting my perspective made a difference in how I felt about it?
How can I start seeing my challenges as opportunities for growth and personal transformation?
In what ways can I practice gratitude for the contrasts in my life—both the highs and lows?
10. The Law of Polarity
Everything has an opposite, and contrast helps us understand life.
This law states that everything has an opposite, and contrasts help us understand life. Light cannot exist without darkness, joy without sadness, or success without failure. By understanding this law, we realize that opposites serve a purpose, helping us appreciate each experience. In fact, without the polarities there would be nothing for us to experience at all. How could we feel warmth when we don't know what cold feels like?
How to Live By It:
Embrace both positive and negative experiences, as they offer valuable learning. Recognize that contrast often clarifies what you truly desire.
Journal Prompts:
How can I embrace both the highs and lows of life as part of my growth?
What difficult experiences have led me to greater understanding or strength?
How can I use contrast to refine my goals and desires?
11. The Law of Rhythm
Life is cyclical; everything flows in rhythms and patterns.
The Law of Rhythm emphasizes the cyclical nature of life. Just as the seasons change, so do our experiences and emotions. We all go through periods of growth and rest, highs and lows, reminding us that everything in life is temporary.
How to Live By It:
Honor the natural cycles in life. When times are tough, know that this too shall pass. Embrace periods of rest, creativity, and change as natural parts of the flow.
Journal Prompts:
What season of life am I in right now, and how can I honor it?
How can I be more patient with the ebbs and flows of my journey?
What rhythms in my life bring me peace or joy?
12. The Law of Gender
Everything has masculine and feminine energy.
The Law of Gender highlights the importance of balancing both masculine and feminine energies within us. These energies exist within everyone, regardless of gender. The masculine energy is typically associated with action, logic, structure, and doing, while the feminine energy embodies intuition, creativity, receptivity, and being. For a harmonious life, it’s essential to honor and balance both energies. Going too far in either direction—excessively focusing on doing and achieving (masculine) or withdrawing into passivity and emotional overwhelm (feminine)—can lead to imbalance and hinder growth.
How to Live By It:
Balance your actions with moments of reflection and stillness. Allow your feminine energy to guide and replenish you, while also using your masculine energy to take inspired action. Living in alignment with this law brings harmony and wholeness.
